DYEING
METHOD FOR MOTHER-OF-PEARL
Tonalities
represented in this folder are obtained by using white buttons, which have
not been undergone of any treatment.
Our colourings can be mixed because they are chemically compatible each
others, and they are made in respect of present European and international
normative.
According
to the quality and the nature of the material used you obtain different
results concerning tonality and dyeing, if you want light and bright dyes,
a chemical advisable method is the following:
Plunge
the buttons in a watery solution containing 10% of potassium hydroxide for
different hours in room temperature.
In order to obtain dark dyes melt 5% of silver nitrate and 5% of copper
sulphate in an ammonia solution for about 3 days in room temperature.
Dyeing:
melt
the colouring in water 1 g./litre for fuchsia MP, blue MP 2, yellow MP 2 e
4 g./litre for blue MP1, green MP, red MP1-2, MP1 e 2, violet MP1, bring
at 50/60°C and dye for 1 or 2 days according to tonality.
