It’s easy to say buttons, but …
There are lots of different kind of buttons, either natural or chemical.
Natural:
-Vegetable: Corozo, Ebony, Mahogany, Tek, Dum Palm, Fabric,
Wood...
-Animal: Mother-of-pearl, Horn, Bone, Nail, Tortoise, Leather.
Chemical:
-Synthetic: Polyester, Polyamide (plastic nylon), Polyvinyl (Vipla)
Different dyes are used depending on the materials being dyed.

There are various kind of dying:
-Simple: by using only one dye;
-Complex: by using a mixture of two or more dyes;
-Direct: without chemical agents;
-Indirect: by using special chemical agents which facilitate the
colour absorption and serve as fixing
agents.
